Shands AGH Respiratory Care is a diverse department serving pediatric and adult patients. We provide registered and registry-eligible respiratory therapists an opportunity to work in a variety of units, and empower therapists to be actively involved in determining the course of patient care. The scope of duties includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Ventilator management
Airway management (intubations)
Arterial line placement
Arterial blood gases
Emergency Room coverage
Code Blue response
Flexible Bronchoscopy
BiPAP / CPAP therapy
Rapid Response Team (Code Yellow)
Attend all high risk infant deliveries

In house transport of ventilated patients
Pulmonary Function Studies
Continuous pulse oximetry
Airway clearance therapies
Specialty gases
Delivery of Respiratory Medications
Patient Education
Support NICU
