Shands Rehab Center at the Medical Plaza offers Physical Therapy services to rehabilitate patients with disability related to their cardiac and pulmonary health.

Treatment is commonly provided for patients with:

• Chronic cardiopulmonary conditions such as COPD, Emphysema, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Asthma, and heart disease
• Patients preparing for lung transplantation
• Patients recovering after heart transplantation
  

Physical therapists have access to a full line of Cybex strength training equipment and various modes of aerobic conditioning (treadmills, stationary bicycles, and upper body ergometers). Our outpatient facility is equipped with built-in oxygen ports to allow the continuous flow of oxygen to patients as needed during their treatment sessions. Equipment necessary to monitor changes in vital signs throughout each session (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation) is present.
