Shands Rehab Hospital
Our entire facility, located along 11 acres of pristine forest, serves as a dedicated 40-bed unit (six private and 12 semi-private large and spacious rooms) focused on restoring, maintaining and promoting optimal patient health. The patient population ranges in age from young adult to geriatric. Shands Rehab Hospital has a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists; psychologists; physicial, speech, occupational, and recreational therapists; and case managers. Shands Rehab Hospital is one of only 10 rehabilitation centers in the state designated by the Florida Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program as a brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation center. Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Shands Rehab Hospital is the leading organization that sets standards of care for rehabilitation programs and hospitals and also has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, brain injury and spinal cord injury.
