Shands at the University of Florida
Pharmacy operations at Shands at the University of Florida provide both inpatient and ambulatory care services. Expansion plans will bring new growth and opportunity to our pharmacists and techs, allowing for career growth within a technologically sophisticated environment. Advancements in fax imaging are planned to help streamline processing, particularly of STAT orders. We also anticipate departmental growth into 2009 when construction of a new bed tower will allow us to build a "one-stop shop" pharmacy, facilitated via automated dispensing technologies. Our existing facilities offer flexibility and diversity, along with a team-oriented philosophy and unique training programs for pharmacists and techs, with a particular emphasis on employees transitioning from the retail setting. Several pharmacy residencies are also available as we partner closely with the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy to help shape the future of patient care.
