Drug Information Preceptor Information
Paul L. Doering, MSPaul L. Doering, MS, is co-director of the Drug Information and Pharmacy Resource Center and distinguished service professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Mr. Doering received his BS and MS degrees in Pharmacy from the University of Florida. He completed a residency in Clinical Pharmacy at Shands at the University of Florida in 1974 and has published numerous articles and book chapters relating to the provision of drug information services. back to topRandy C. Hatton, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS is co-director of the Shands Drug Information and Pharmacy Resource Center and clinical professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He also serves as program director for the Drug Information Specialty Residency. Dr. Hatton received his BS from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1977. After practicing as a hospital pharmacist specializing in nutritional support for three years, he completed his PharmD at the University of Florida in 1982. He completed a fellowship in clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics at Shands and the University of Florida. Randy became a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist in 1991 and was recertified in 1998 and 2005. In 2001, he was elected as a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Before going into drug information practice, Randy did research and development for pharmacy computer programs and practiced as a clinical specialist in Internal Medicine. For the last 19 years, Randy has practiced in the Drug Information Center, served as secretary of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, coordinated the Adverse Drug Reaction Program, and edited and authored much of the Pharmacy/P&T Committee newsletter that is published 10 times per year. Randy has broad research interests, has authored over 60 articles, and presents to local and national pharmacy organizations. Current interests include computerized drug information resources, adverse reactions, medication error prevention, factors influencing prescribing, and evaluation of clinical services. back to top |
