Adult Hematology/Oncology Preceptor Information
Tippu Khan, PharmDTippu Khan, PharmD, is a pharmacy specialist in Bone Marrow Transplant at Shands at the University of Florida. Dr. Khan received his PharmD from the Purdue University College of Pharmacy. He completed his Pharmacy Practice residency at Wishard Health Service and Specialty residency in Hematology/Oncology at Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Khan is a member of Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacy. back to topHelen Leather, B.Pharm, Grad Dip Hosp Pharm (Dist), BCPSHelen Leather is a clinical specialist in Bone Marrow Transplantation and clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Ms. Leather received her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Curtin University in Western Australia and completed an ASHP-accredited specialty residency in Oncology Pharmacy Practice at Emory University Hospital. She is board-certified in Pharmacotherapy. She serves as director of Shands' Oncology Residency and maintains a clinical practice in bone marrow transplantation as well as a strong research involvement in this area. Her major areas of interest include management of fungal infections in the neutropenic host, the treatment of acute and chronic leukemia patients, as well as the supportive care issues involved in the management of leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients. Her clinical research interests lie in the pharmacokinetics of the new antifungal agents and antineoplastic agents in bone marrow transplant patients. back to topLaura E. Wiggins, PharmD, BCOPLaura Wiggins, PharmD, is a clinical specialist in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Shands at the University of Florida and clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Dr. Wiggins received her PharmD degree from the University of Florida in 1989. She then completed a Clinical Pharmacy residency at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, New York, followed by an Oncology Pharmacy residency at the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She spent six years as a clinical specialist in Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she was also an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Before joining Shands, she practiced for three years as an oncology clinical pharmacist at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her areas of interest include the management of leukemias and lymphomas, as well as bone marrow transplantation. back to top |
