Adult Critical Care Preceptor Information
Michelle E. Allen, PharmD, BCPSMichelle E. Allen, PharmD, BCPS, is the clinical pharmacy specialist for the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Shands at the University of Florida, clinical assistant professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, and co-director for Shands' Critical Care Specialty residency program. Dr. Allen received her BS from the University of California at Berkeley and her PharmD from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a Pharmacy Practice residency and a Critical Care Specialty residency at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson, AZ. Michelle is a former chair of ASHP’s New Practitioners Forum, is currently involved in two national committees for the Society of Critical Care Medicine. back to topThomas G. Baumgartner, MEd, PharmD, FASHP, BCNSPThomas G. Baumgartner, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacy specialist for the Nutritional Support Consult Service at Shands at the University of Florida and clinical professor of the colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing at the University of Florida. Dr. Baumgartner received his BS and BPh from the Rutgers College of Pharmacy, a Masters in Education from Stetson University, and his PharmD from the University of the Pacific. He is a past president of the American Society of Nutritional Support Services and the 1998-99 president of the Florida Association of Nutritional Support and Florida Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. His research interests are in the areas of medicinal stability in parenteral therapy, filtration phenomenon, and parenteral micronutrition. back to topAimée C. LeClaire, PharmDAimée C. LeClaire, PharmD is the clinical pharmacy specialist in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and co-director for the Critical Care Specialty pharmacy residency program at Shands at the University of Florida. She is also a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Dr. LeClaire received her PharmD from Butler University. She completed a Pharmacy Practice residency and a Critical Care Specialty pharmacy residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Her areas of interest include nosocomial infections and prophylaxis of venous thromboembolic events in surgical populations. back to topMargaret R. Thomson, PharmD, BCPSMaggie Thomson, PharmD, is the pharmacy specialist in the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery ICU at Shands at the University of Florida and clinical assistant professor of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Dr. Thomson received her PharmD from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. She completed her two-year Pharmacotherapy residency at Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Thomson is a member of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacy, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and Society of Critical Care Medicine. back to top |
