Residency in Pharmacy Practice
The residency in Pharmacy Practice at Shands at the University of Florida is an ASHP-accredited program emphasizing clinical pharmacy practice and its relationship to the total health system. The residency provides a framework for the practitioner to develop the skills necessary for providing pharmaceutical care in a variety of different health care settings. ProgramThere are six pharmacy resident positions available to eligible candidates at Shands at UF. These are divided among pharmacy practice and several other specialties. Two to four of the positions will be in the pharmacy practice program. This residency offers six required rotations and provides ample time for elective rotations in a variety of settings.

Each resident is required to complete a project. Projects must receive prior approval and must be in publishable form upon completion of the residency. StipendThe resident receives a $37,500 stipend paid by Shands at UF. The stipend, coupled with the comparatively low cost of living in Gainesville, should ensure a financially sufficient year. BenefitsSelected and matched applicants will receive partial reimbursement for interview expenses, when accompanied by receipts, at the beginning of the residency year.
