Residency in Practice Management
The residency in Practice Management at Shands at the University of Florida is an ASHP-accredited program emphasizing leadership and management. The resident is placed in a progressive environment for the practice of pharmaceutical care, coupled with education and research. ProgramThere is one resident position available in the area of Practice Management. The program is tailored to the resident's background and future plans. Areas of concentration include, but are not limited to:
The resident will work directly with the director and other members of the pharmacy staff. The resident gains experience in supervising a departmental work group and contributes to pharmacy staffing coverage, an average of one shift a week. Strong emphasis is placed on developing leadership skills necessary in a pharmacy practice environment, which leads to improved patient outcomes. While a resident at Shands at UF, each resident will:
StipendThe resident receives a $42,500 stipend paid by Shands at UF. The stipend, coupled with the comparatively low cost of living in Gainesville, should ensure a financially sufficient year. BenefitsSelected and matched applicants will receive partial reimbursement for interview expenses, when accompanied by receipts, at the beginning of the residency year.
