Medical Services

Since 1956, Shands Starke has provided families of Starke and the surrounding communities with a variety of health programs and services.

We provide 24-hour emergency care. The Shands Starke Emergency Room (ER) contains five beds and cares for an average of 1,200 patients each month. More than 14,000 patients are treated in our ER annually.
We offer comprehensive lab services, including blood counts, cholesterol and liver tests, PSA tests for prostate screening and more.
Outpatient specialty clinics - Shands Starke features outpatient services for general surgery, cardiology, gynecology, orthopaedics, podiatry, pulmonology, urology, and pain management dermatology. Physicians come from Gainesville, Lake City, and Jacksonville to provide specialty care to the needs of our community.

Our respiratory care services offer PFTs; arterial blood gas testing; and cardiac testing, including holter monitoring, EKGs, EEGs, and stress tests.
