Children’s Miracle Network is an organization that benefits
170 non-profit hospitals throughout the United States and Canada dedicated to building
awareness and raising funds for children’s hospitals. The mission of Children’s Miracle
Network is to provide better health care for children in our community. The funds
raised by the Children's Miracle Network go to hospitals that specialize in pediatric
care for the benefit of all children who are ill or injured - not just those with
specific problems. From children stricken with cancer to those with birth defects,
from accident victims to those who suffer with muscular diseases, Children's Miracle
Network is truly a celebration of the miracle of life for every child.
Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida is the participating
Children's Miracle Network hospital in this area. As the states leading referral
medical center, Shands Children's Hospital treats children from every county from
Florida and many from South Georgia - many of them from your own community. Shands
Children's Hospital supplements are the excellent health care available for children
with an extra level of care for the most complicated and severe pediatric cases.
Throughout the year, Children's Miracle Network raises funds so that the Shands
Children's Hospital can maintain and enhance its pediatric programs to continue
to provide young patients with the most advanced medical treatment available.
Children's Miracle Network is unique because all the money raised locally goes
directly to the participating Children's Miracle Network hospital.
Miracles really do happen for thousands of children at Shands Children's
Hospital each year. Join the miracle team at the University of Florida physicians,
healthcare professionals, civic groups, corporate sponsors, celebrities, media and
volunteers who are advancing the quality of children's healthcare through Children's
Miracle Network.
